Euro 2016 France: Tournament Guide

The UEFA Euro 2016 is going to take place in France from June 10th to July 10th. It will feature dozens of matches played out across ten different venues. The first match will have host nation France going up against a team to be determined.

This Euro will be the first time 24 teams will play as opposed to the usual 16 nations competing at once. Host nation France are automatically qualified but there are still 23 spots open. There are nearly 55 teams battling to secure a sport on the qualifying roster. You can expect to the usual powerhouses like Germany, Spain and Netherlands. A couple surprising newcomers worth watching out for include Ukraine and Gibraltar. Gibraltar is the first ever attempting to qualify. This is the third time that France has hosted the Euro Football Championship (1960 and 1984). The winning team will gain automatic entry to the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia in 2017.

On December 12, 2015 at the Palais des Congres de Paris the final draw will be held.
